With NameWiz you can easily rename multiple files simultaneously in just a few clicks. The program features a simple interface with a somewhat old design, but its pretty functional. The left sidebar gives you access to different renaming actions, while the tabs on the right let you choose between renaming files or folders, creating folders with automatic names and checking the program’s log.
Renaming options in NameWiz are impressive: you can remove, replace, insert, delete, move or swap characters, change upper and lower case, add prefixes and suffixes, or even replace the whole name with a completely new word. All changes are displayed in real time in NameWiz’s main area, and applied immediately – no confirmation whatsoever – when you hit the Apply button.
The best thing about NameWiz is that its functionality can be extended with plug-ins, making it easier to rename special files like MP3s, or change the file’s attributes.
